  When I read "with states", I think:
  * speed settings
  * mixer settings
  * zoom state
  * Loop state

  Those would be VERY useful to keep; maybe not all for each song, but certainly mixer settings for each song.

  Perhaps some options presented as check boxes/radio buttons? With a space for making notes.

  Interesting idea, thanks! We are also thinking about automatically tracking songs being learned by the time spent by user on a particular song... E.g. if one spends more than 10 minutes on a song - it is marked as "being learned".
